Race report from Chris Pruitt:
I'm writing to tell you about my first marathon! Terry Etterman and I ran it together (literally) and both finished in 4:25. We were just hoping to walk across the line with no injuries, so we really exceeded our expectations by having such a fun time. The New River Marathon is in Boone, and it was very well put together, well-marked, and there were great volunteers at the aide stations--every two miles! The course was beautiful, and nicely varied--mostly pavement, a lot of flat, but some good hills as well. It was a great experience. Highly recommend it. I attached four photos my dad took of us. The best thing was sitting in the cold river right after the race. Perfect!! Oh, and by the way--notice the shirt I'm wearing! Someone on the sidelines saw it and said, "Go Foot Rx! Yay, Asheville!"

Rush Austin also ran the New River Marathon, but had a tough outing finishing in 4:24.
