Super Fast 5k - Possibly the Fastest 5k Around

Super Fast 5k

Foot Rx Running Asheville is pleased to bring to Western North Carolina  "The Super Fast 5k"!

On Nov. 17th at 9am runners will start from Camp Highlander and run along, quite possibly, the fastest 5k course in WNC. The course has ONE ¼ mile hill near the finish & only 3 turns & 1 turnaround making this course extremely FAST! Participants will run along the S. Mill River surrounded by the local Mountains. A truly beautiful & scenic course. BETTER YET, the entry fee is $20 until Oct. 15, & $30 thereafter. Registration will open Aug. 1 on active.com. Proceeds will benefit the new Recreation Park in Mills River.

Cross Country Series Race #3 - Aug. 2 - 5k

Location: The Asheville School (directions below)

Registration opens at 5:30pm in Parking Lot near the track. Race starts at 6:30pm. 


Course Description: 5k loop of grass & dirt trails
 

Cost: $15 per race (adults)/ $10 students OR $125 for Series ($100 for local clubs)
 

Directions:

 Directions: From the South and Asheville Regional Airport (served by major airlines and regional carriers): I-26 West to I-40 West toward Knoxville, Exit 44. From the North: US 19-23 (new I-26) South to I-240 West to I-40 West, Exit 44. From the East and West: I-40 to Exit 44. At Exit 44, turn left at stoplight and proceed one mile straight ahead past the hotels and shopping centers. Follow Asheville School signs to the driveway on the right. Follow the signs on campus to the athletic field house. The track is just passed the field house.

Race Report 7-21

Robin Mehler was 3rd Woman overall at the Med West Triathlon on July 7. Then on July 22, Robin placed 7th place overall & won her Age Group in the Asheville Triathlon.

Karen Masson was the 1st Overall Female at the Asheville Triathlon.

Dennis Duffy completed his 1st triathlon at the Asheville Triathlon he was 174 overall out of 220.  12th in his AG, 167th in the swim, 200th in the bike and 94th in the run.

Location: Jackson Park (Hendersonville - directions below)

Registration opens at 5:30pm in Parking Area near brick house in Park

Race at 6:30pm 
Course Description: 2k loop of grass & dirt trails

Directions:

801 Glover St. Hendersonville, NC When driving towards Flat Rock (South) on Main St. in Hendersonville, turn left (East) onto 4th Ave and continue into the Park. The Brick House will be on the left 1/4 mile after entering the park. If driving on 64 West (towards Hendersonville off I-26), turn left on Harris St. (small sign for Jackson Park) & conitinue to Glover St. Make a left on Glover St, & enter the Park. Brick House will be 1/4 mile on the left.
