Come out March 30th to trail run in a pair of Montrails with no obligation to buy. We'll meet at the Rice Pinnacle Parking Lot at 6pm on the 30th. Every one will have 3 shoes to choose from for the run. Available will be the Mountain Masochist, Rogue Racer, & Fairhaven. We'll give directions for a 3-6 mile loop for you to test the shoes. Every one who shows up will be entered in a raffle to win a free pair of Montrail Trail Running Shoes. New Trail Races from the director of Springmaid Splash
From those that brought you the Springmaid Splash 10k Trail Race, a new Trail race is born, Maylands Toxic Trail Races. Race distances are 15k & 5k. The races will take place on April 16th at 9am at Mayland Community College.

Race Report from Feb. 26-27
A HUGE Congrats to Allie Hustead for winning her 2nd consecutive Black Mountain Marathon in a time of 3:56:42!
Brian Simpson was 15th overall in 3:53:48.
A few Frostbite 10k Results we missed last weekend were Jeff Carnivale. 16th overall, 2nd in 40-44 age group, just a shade under 44 minutes. As well as Tera Pruett 57:11 & 4th in her age group.
Lastly, we want to congratulate Mark Lunblad for his Record Setting win at the Mount Mitchell Challenge 40 Miler! Mark set a new course record of 4:52:33!
Great stuff!

Blackjack 5k Feb. 26 IS ON
Come rain or shine. WALK or RUN the Blackjack 5k is on for Feb 26th. Cost is $5. This event will take place at Fletcher Park. Registration starts at 8am in the last parking lot. Race starts at 8:30am. All ages are welcome! Course is TWO 2.5k loops. No pavement.
How it works:
You'll receive a playing card at the start, one at 1/2 way, & you can take a hit at the finish. The object is to get 21. The race will be timed, but it doesn't matter who wins the race, so every one has a shot at winning. The registration pot will be split amongst the winners in Foot Rx Gift Certificates.

Race Results from Feb. 19 & 20
Jesse Warren ran the Myrtle Beach Marathon around the 4 hour mark. Said he had too good of a time on Friday night. Good for you Jesse!
We had a ton of familiar faces at the Frostbite 5k & 10k. First, congrats to the Edneyville Elementary Jogging Group! There were a ton of kids running in both the 5k & the 10k. Great job to all!
In the women's race, Rebecca Mayernick was 3rd overall female in the 10k. Awesome job! Kate Seng finished the 10k in around 55 minutes, but her chip didn't register her at the finish. Lynn Ray cracked one hour in the 10k and set a new PR! She ran 59:15. Melissa McCulloch was 3rd in her age group and, as always, all smiles at the finish & awards ceremony.
in the men's race, Aaron Saft won the 10k in 33:06. Curtis Rowe was 4th overall in the 5k in a new PR of 17:45. David Workman took fourth overall in the 10k running 36:55. Shawn Bagley ran 40:28 in the 10k. Don McMahill ran the 5k, & informed me his goal was to beat the 1st 10k runner. He told me I didn't count, so he achieved his goal. He ran 35:26 & took 3rd in his age group. Mr. Dennis Duffy ran the 10k & had his fastest time in over a year running 51:12. Albert Noah set a new 10k PR of 58:06 as did Jason Luttrull running 1:07:52. Congrats to all!
